We’ve been keeping tabs on Swedish 19 year old singer-songwriter and emerging pop star Ellen Krauss since she dropped her sublime folk-tinged debut track The One I Love – an LGBT+ acceptance anthem, which has since clocked up over 9m Spotify streams - last year. Entirely self-taught, Ellen quickly found fans online for her music with the likes of Clash, Indie Shuffle and When The Horn Blows among others praising her music, along with support at Spotify Sweden. She was awarded the Rookie Artist of the Year at the Denniz Pop Awards 2019 in Sweden and at the start of the year toured the country with Miriam Bryant to great success. Last month Ellen released the Pearl EP, a collection of her releases so far, including this stripped-back and upbeat affair. With its warm-hearted feels and catchy chorus hook, New York might just become one of your new favourite late summer chill-out tracks - it’s one of ours.
