CMAT
Have Fun!

AWAL Recordings

WE SAY

Premiered by Clara Amfo last night (31 May) on her Radio 1 show as her Hottest Record, ‘Have Fun!’ is the fantastic easy-going and catchy new single from Dublin-based artist CMAT. Taken from her forthcoming second album, ‘Crazymad, For Me’, also announced on the show, the track sees CMAT sing “about how things in life are never satisfying, and don’t make sense, but they exist anyway and we have to make the best of it. And have fun!”. With its carefree strut and fiddle-toting antics, the song is accompanied by the excellent video by Collective Film, shot in Dublin and Paris. Watch here. Worthy of more spins on Radio 1 and plays on Radio 2 and 6 Music, following previous support at the stations, the single sees the RotD Ones To Watch 2022 artist mark the next step of her career. Having seriously impressed us with one of our favourite albums of 2022, the fun-filled and acerbic ‘If My Wife New I'd Be Dead’, CMAT has also drawn praise for her pop-country inspired tunes and energetic live show, which we can attest to having caught her at last year’s Great Escape festival, from The Guardian, The Observer, Dork, DIY, Clash, The Times, NME and The Line of Best Fit, among others. Plus, streaming support from Spotify and Apple Music. This summer, CMAT will be playing numerous festivals, including Isle of Wight, Glastonbury and Camp Bestival, before heading out on an autumn headline tour of Ireland and the UK in support of her second album release. So for now, let us bask in this earworm and have fun!
