Roll It Gal promises to be the tune to dominate this year's Notting Hill Carnival and has been getting great support on 1Xtra and Kiss. And even though 1Xtra are behind it,(putting this remix on their A-list) it's only a matter of time before R1 and commercial radio should be playing a crossover track from the soca genre, perhaps even from this artist. As Eddy Lawrence points out in this week's Time Out piece on Alison Hinds: "Given its...melodic similarity to a lot of US R&B, it's actually pretty surprising soca hasn't crossed over before now".
