WE SAY
Drenched in soulful and washed out tones is this gem from Sweden-based guitarist and producer Viktor Jansåker, aka Alec Baker. With a background in jazz and a huge passion for pop and hip-hop, Viktor has for the past two years been travelling between Sweden, London and New York working on recording his sound in bedrooms and studios, as well as making newfound friends and unexpected collaborations. Last Friday he dropped this, his debut release, featuring London rapper Tony Jian and producer Summer Heart, whom he both met on his travels. It’s a gorgeous track, full of downtempo grooves with a sun tone guitar melody alongside some dreamy vocals and the downbeat bars of Tony. Perfect for those hazy mellow summer playlists with its airy vibe, it has already picked up early support from numerous blogs, including Discobelle and Festivalrykten, one of the biggest blogs in Sweden. Quite simply, this is a gloriously laid-back affair and a welcome addition to anyone's collection who loves their music on the chill side.
