Warner Chappell Music signs publishing deal with multi-platinum record producer d.a. got that dope 25 Mar 2021
Warner Chappell Music, the global publishing arm of Warner Music Group, has entered into a worldwide publishing agreement with d.a. got that dope, an award-winning record producer, songwriter and music executive. He’s been the creative mastermind behind a string of hits for Kodak Black, Tyga, Megan Thee Stallion, Chris Brown and more. In 2020, he produced the standout Eminem single, “Godzilla” ft. Juice Wrld – which has sold over eight million copies worldwide – in addition to eight other beats on Eminem'sMusic To Be Murdered By album. d.a. has also been featured on a variety of top producers’ charts, most recently reaching the No. 1 spot onBillboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Producers chart for multiple weeks.
Warner Chappell Music President of A&R, U.S., Ryan Press, said: “From No. 1’s like ‘Taste’ to ‘ZEZE’, d.a. effortlessly creates memorable beats that connect with fans around the world. He brings a different type of vibe and energy to every track he works on and is one of the most versatile producers in the game. I’m incredibly proud to be on this journey with him.”
d.a. got that dope added: “I've been hustling solo for most of my time in the music industry and Ryan has really come in and made a meaningful impact on my career. I'm very appreciative of him and the whole WC team for working hard with me. I'm looking forward to more great music and more success.”
d.a. got that dope (FKA D.A. Doman), started producing music in the mid-2000s in Chicago, working with artists like Mikkey Halsted, Ghostface Killah, and Bump J. In 2009, he co-wrote and co-produced “Everybody in Love” by JLS, which went No. 1 in the UK and earned him a multi-platinum certification there. Shortly after, he moved to Los Angeles and went on to get his break producing Chris Brown’s single, “Privacy,” which also marked his first RIAA 2x-platinum certified hit. He’s since worked on top tracks like "PTSD" by G Herbo (ft. Lil Uzi Vert, Juice Wrld, and Chance The Rapper) "Swish” and “Dip” by Tyga (ft. Nicki Minaj), as well as produced the catchy anthems “ZEZE” by Kodak Black (ft. Travis Scott and Offset) and “Taste” by Tyga (ft. Offset). Most recently, d.a. got that dope teamed up with Megan Thee Stallion on the platinum selling “Cry Baby” (ft. DaBaby) and DaBaby on his new single “Masterpiece.” Outside of producing and songwriting, d.a. is a well-regarded A&R executive who discovered and helped develop rising rapper/singer 24kGoldn, who he has worked with as his A&R since signing him in 2018.
