Interim post strengthens crucial industry accessibility organisation to face the future, building on 20 years of positive change

Attitude is Everything is pleased to announce the recruitment of Vick Bain as Interim Director of Strategy. Starting immediately, Vick will be assisting the charity’s team over the coming months to take stock as they look to 2021 and beyond.

Since March, Attitude is Everything has been working hard to support the development of industry reopening guidance, released an access guide for online music events, collaborated on the production of the #7InclusivePrinciples for the arts and led on the formation of the Audience Access Alliance.

Recent months have also seen the launch of the new Beyond The Music programme, working to break down barriers that impact Deaf and disabled volunteers and industry professionals.

Central to Vick’s role will be scoping out new opportunities for partnerships and business development in this new COVID-impacted era for the charity and the music and event industries.

Vick has worked in various sectors of music for twenty-five years. For six years she was CEO of the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers & Authors (now the Ivors Academy) and is now a music industry consultant as well as campaigner of diversity and inclusion in the music industry.

Vick is the author of an influential report called Counting The Music Industry, shining a light on how few women are supported in freelance music careers, she is the curator of The F-Listdirectory of female musicians and a PhD researcher at Queen Mary University looking at women's careers in the music industry,

For her campaigning work, Vick was enrolled into the Music Week Women In Music Awards Roll Of Honour 2017 and the BBC Radio 4 Woman's Hour Music Industry Powerlist 2018.

As well as being a Henley Business School MBA graduate, Vick is also currently a director of the board of the Incorporated Society of Musicians and music tech start-up Delic, as well as a trustee of the Parents & Carers in Performing Arts (PiPA).
