As Chappell Roan lands highest new entry in the Top 5

VINYL ALBUMS

Fender rules the roost! The Geordie boy's third studio collection People Watching still leads the race as the biggest selling vinyl album of 2025 so far, Official Charts can reveal.

Shifting over 56,000 copies on wax since its release, Official Charts also confirms Sam's third LP is the fastest-selling vinyl album of the century by a British artist after selling more than 42,000 copies on vinyl in its first seven days. Can it retain its reign come the end of 2025?

At Number 2 is Taylor Swift with Lover (Live from Paris). The record netted Taylor her 13th UK Number 1 album back in February, seeing her surpass Madonna to become the female artist with the most UK Number 1 albums. With 48,000 vinyl sold so far, it highlights Taylor's monumental popularity.

In third position is a new entry from Sabrina Carpenter and her latest album Man's Best Friend. Selling an astonishing 27,000 copies in its first week the record, which includes smash hits ManchildTears and When Did You Get Hot?, this has become Sabrina's biggest selling record on vinyl to date and is one to watch to nick the top spot at the end of the year.

And there's more good news for the superstar! Her fifth LP Short N' Sweet, which spent 50 weeks in the Top 10 of the UK Albums Chart, also lands in at Number 5 on the list.

Fontaines D.C.'s Romance currently holds fourth position having sold 71,000 vinyl copies. The popular Irish outfit also see the album nominated for this year's 2025 Mercury Prize.

Pulp's third Number 1 album More lands at Number 6, with fellow Britpop band Oasis taking seventh place with (What's The Story) Morning Glory?. Oasis also see their debut Definitely Maybe climb an impressive six places in the last three months after kickstarting their comeback tour (11).

Fleetwood Mac's Rumours sits at Number 8, having also risen into the Top 20 list of 2025's Official biggest albums of year so far.

Lady Gaga sees her MAYHEM album at Number 9, while Chappell Roan's debut release The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess rounds off the Top 10 in this latest update.

Radiohead see two of their albums, OK, Computer (13) and In Rainbows (20), chart highly.

English rock band Wolf Alice storm their way into the Top 20 with The Clearing (15). Having secured the group their second Number 1 album in September, the record shifted14,000 copies on vinyl in its first seven days.

And it's another English band in the Top 20! Wet Leg's moisturizer, which also secured the group their second Number 1 Album, is another new entry in this year-to-date chart (18).

Overall, it's the year of the bands on vinyl, with 12 albums from groups making up 2025's Top 20 so far.

VINYL SINGLES

With Oasis Live '25 taking the world by storm, they stay at the top of the tree with their 1994 single, Whatever.

Having topped the Official Vinyls Singles Chart for three consecutive weeks in March, it also made its way back into the Top 40 of the Official Singles Chart for the first time in nearly three decades. And the Oasis hype shows no signs of slowing down as another of their singles, Some Might Say, also swoops in at Number 3.

It also sees British acts top both the biggest albums and singles on vinyl so far this year.

Taylor Swift currently settles in second place again as Fortnight featuring Post Malone languishes behind Oasis. Selling over 10,000 copies in its first week, while also securing Taylor her fourth UK Number 1 single, can she push Oasis off their pedestal at the top by the end of the year?

Chapell Roan nets the highest new entry in the update with The Giver. Currently sitting at Number 4. The Midwest Princess also sees her iconic Pink Pony Club hovering in the Top 10 (7) as well as Good Luck Babe which also sees its way into the chart (22).

BRAT autumn? Charli xcx will certainly be hoping so as her chart-topping track Guess (4) featuring Billie Eilish makes up the Top 5.

Incoming Sabrina chaos! Manchild (6) is one of FIVE singles from the Pennsylvanian-born star in the Top 40, including Taste (13), Bed Chem (16), Espresso (39) and Please, Please, Please (40).

The remaining Top 10 sees Lola Young's self-proclaimed 'ADHD anthem' Messy at Number 8, followed by Aussie pop royalty Kylie Minogue  with Alok collaboration Last Night I Dreamt I Fell In Love (9). Fontaines D.C. round off the Top 10 with It's Amazing To Be Young (10).

A huge shoutout goes to RAYE as WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!, released less than a month ago, falls just outside the Top 10 so far (11). The anthemic pop banger has gripped listeners, debuting at Number 4 on the Official Singles Chart and sure to cause a stir come the end of the year.

Wunderhorse's The Rope is also a new entry into the Top 20 in this latest update (17). The track peaked at Number 1 on the Official Vinyl Singles Chart in August.
