  • A bumper year of exclusives and limited editions to support the UK’s independent record shops
  • Oasis joins this year’s Record Store Day lineup with Time Flies…(1994-2009), reissued on vinyl for the first time since 2010, just ahead of Oasis Live ’25!
  • Taylor Swift returns with a special edition of Fortnight (feat. Post Malone)

Record Store Day UK is proud to announce this year’s list of exclusives and special releases coming on Saturday 12 April 2025.

Fans can expect a stacked list of collectible and limited-edition records from some of the biggest and most exciting names in music, plus many more surprises!

Hundreds of artists have come together to celebrate the UK’s independent record shops, which are at the heart of local communities nationwide. Now in its 18th year, RSD brings together artists, labels, and record stores across the country to celebrate the unique culture of independent shops and the enduring art of vinyl.

With special releases spanning rock, pop, soul, jazz, hip-hop, reggae, classical, and folk - plus three Harry Potter soundtracks - music fans of all tastes and genres will find something to enjoy at their local record store this April.

The Return of Oasis
This year’s Record Store Day list also includes a special Oasis release, arriving just ahead of the start of Oasis Live ’25. Time Flies… (1994-2009) is made available for the first time with remastered audio and completely new packaging, the box set is numbered and includes four coloured LPs. As a former Record Store Day ambassador, Noel has long championed the importance of record shops, saying: “Record shops were really important when I was growing up. It’s something that’s in my DNA. I think if we can keep record shops open for as long as possible, we owe it to the young people of this country.”  Liam Gallagher also joins this year’s lineup with a special release – Acoustic Sessions - eight acoustic tracks, pressed on vinyl for the very first time.

Taylor Swift
Swifties rejoice! Taylor Swift makes a return to Record Store Day with an exclusive 7" white vinyl of “Fortnight” taken from Taylor Swift’s Grammy Nominated Album of the Year, The Tortured Poets Department. This is the first time “Fortnight [BLOND:ISH Remix]” will be available on vinyl.

Brit Nominees, Emerging Talent & Music for Everyone
Record Store Day 2025 features three releases from Brit nominee, Fred again.. For the first time ever, Fred will release his 'Actual Life' piano live sessions on vinyl.

When asked about the release, Fred said: ‘For Record Store Day this year in April, we are gonna continue the IRL vinyl series by printing the the Actual Life Piano Lives to vinyl for the first time. This vinyl series is always gonna be limited pressings of live moments that felt particularly special and these are some of my favourite things we’ve done.

Buttttt we only ever made the piano lives for AL2 and AL3 and so many of you were asking for AL1, so 4 years after the original Actual Life album came out on Record Store Day in 2021, I’ve recorded the actual life 1 piano live a few weeks ago. We are working wit Vinyl Factory (who did all the other IRL vinyl) to produce something really special. The record will be available on 12th April for record store day in all the stores taking part.”

RSD is thrilled to welcome other Brit nominees: Beabadoobee, Charli XCX, Rachel Chinouriri, Confidence Man, The Cure, English Teacher, Sam Fender, and Michael Kiwanuka. Accompanied by an impressive lineup of exciting talent including Lil Uzi Vert, Megan Thee Stallion, MJ Lenderman, and Post Malone.

Indie favourites The Jesus and Mary Chain are set to release a remastered 13-track collection of A-sides and non-album B-sides. Meanwhile, The Verve’s Voyager 1, a rare ‘pseudo-bootleg’ designed to look like an unofficial release, is also getting a reissue. Originally put out to introduce the band to U.S. audiences via Virgin’s indie label Vernon Yard Recordings

And for fans with an eclectic taste? Punk rock legends Rise Against are back with "Nod," their first new music in three years. Produced by GRAMMY-winning Catherine Marks, the electrifying single will be available on 7” vinyl for the very first time.

Here’s what Tim from the band had to say about Record Stores: “All of my first records were bought at independent record stores in and around the Chicago area, they were my lifeline to a culture that would go on to define my world. In a world that lives increasingly online, brick and mortar record stores are one of the last places music lovers can come together in real life.”

The Continued Vinyl Revival
This year’s Record Store Day arrives as vinyl sales have rocketed to their highest level in 20 years. According to the latest report from the Digital Entertainment and Retail Association, the market for vinyl records grew by 10.5%, with 6.7 million discs sold last year, generating £196m. These exciting numbers highlight the ongoing love for physical music and the vital role independent record stores play in bringing artists, labels, and collectors together.

“Every year, I am asked, 'What is Record Store Day?'” says Mark Thorne of Thorne Records in Edinburgh. “My answer is always, 'It’s like Mother’s Day for record shops' - but instead of chocolates and flowers, we indie record retailers get a queue of wonderful customers (…) It’s been a boost to our part of the industry for nearly 20 years, and long may it continue. Roll on Saturday 12th April 2025!"

Just a friendly reminder that all items on this year’s release list will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at participating shops only. With so many stores taking part, be sure to check out where your nearest one is so you don’t miss out! Click here to find your nearest participating shop.

Keep your eyes on our website and socials for the latest updates. Record Store Day will take place on Saturday 12th April.
