Amazon Music has today announced the release of two brand new Amazon Original songs from Myles Smith and Darren Kiely. In tribute to U2, who will be honoured as Fellows of The Ivors Academy at The Ivors 2025, the organisation's highest accolade, nominee Myles Smith has covered their classic anthem "Beautiful Day", which can be streamed now on Amazon Music here.
Then on Thursday 22nd May, fans can also stream a brand new recording from rising star Darren Kiely, who has paid homage in his Amazon Original to another legendary songwriter with a heartfelt cover of one of their timeless classics, to be announced on the day. The two songs will be available to stream on Thursday exclusively on Amazon Music.
Amazon Music will be livestreaming backstage from The Ivors at Grosvenor House, London, in what is the 70th edition of the world's biggest and most prestigious celebration of songwriters and screen composers. The broadcast will include live performances by nominees Lola Young and Myles Smith from the awards stage, exclusive backstage performances from the Rising Star Award with Amazon Music nominee Bea and her Business as well as Darren Kiely, plus carpet interviews and backstage reactions from the winners. The livestream will be available to watch on the Amazon Music channel on Twitch from 16.00 BST on Thursday 22nd May - hosted by Zach Sang, alongside singer-songwriter and social media star, Talia Mar.
Speaking on his Amazon Music Original song, Darren Kiely said: "It's an absolute honour to get to record an Amazon Music Original. This one feels really special and I can't wait for you to hear it."
Recognised as a pinnacle of creative musical achievement since they were first presented in 1956, winning an Ivor Novello holds a special place in music as they are judged by acclaimed songwriters and composers from The Ivors Academy, with winners joining a roll call of greats that includes Adele, Stormzy, Lana Del Rey, Annie Lennox, Amy Winehouse, Dave, Skepta, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney and John Lennon.
The Ivors Academy has already revealed that the four original members of Bloc Party are set to receive an Ivor Novello Award in the Outstanding Song Collection category - celebrated with the release of an unheard demo of seminal track. Legendary rock group U2 will receive The Ivors Academy's highest honour, becoming the latest Fellows of the Academy. The iconic band will be inducted into Fellowship at The Ivors with Amazon Music on 22nd May, becoming the first Irish songwriters that the Academy has inducted into Fellowship in its 81-year history.

As well as recognising U2 and Bloc Party so far at The Ivors, Ivor Novello Awards will also be presented for Songwriter of the Year with Amazon Music, Visionary Award with Amazon Music, Special International Award and PRS for Music Icon Award. The Ivors will also recognise and celebrate outstanding songwriters and composers across eight nominated categories.
