  • New research from ROXi reveals 83 per cent of British homes now use Smart TVs with 63 per cent already downloading TV Apps, with most households having downloaded their first TV App more than 2 years ago***

British music streaming company ROXi backed by Kylie Minogue and Robbie Williams,** announces the launch of its revolutionary new free TV Music App available on millions of TVs across the UK.

ROXi’s new TV Music App is dedicated entirely to music, with a new and highly intuitive ‘made for TV’ user interface.

ROXi’s TV Music App brings people together to enjoy unlimited music video streaming with access to over 70 million releases, including every original music video, album and song and all the latest releases, exclusive music video channels, over 140,000 karaoke tracks, music games and more, for free with ads, on a wide range of Smart and Pay TVs.

An optional upgrade, ROXi’s Premium tier offers full ad-free access to all of ROXi’s features for just £6.99 per month and comes with a no obligation 30-day free trial.

Millions of free ROXi Karaoke Microphones

To celebrate the launch of ROXi’s new TV Music App, the company is giving away over ONE MILLION ROXi Karaoke Microphones worth £29.99 to new users.*

The ROXi Karaoke Microphone features a built-in amplifier and speaker and works with any TV, perfect for singing along to ROXi’s 140,000 karaoke tracks with friends and family.

The company’s move to freemium is expected to drive explosive growth over the next 12-months with ROXi scaling up to manufacture more than one million microphones per month by the end 2022.

ROXi’s move follows a 275 per cent growth in usage on its previously paid-for platform and a 38 per cent year-on-year rise in net revenue over the same period.

Led by serial British entrepreneur Rob Lewis, who previously launched the world’s first mobile music streaming service with global music rights, ROXi is on a mission to ensure the UK builds one of the biggest players in the global TV App market that is currently dominated by US-owned VOD (Video-On-Demand) operators.****

As one of only 10 companies in the world with global on-demand music streaming rights with Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group, and Merlin, Lewis is planning to bring ROXi’s TV Music App to Smart and Pay TV platforms across international markets in the future to reach 500 million TVs.

ROXi CEO Rob Lewis said, “There’s been a seismic shift in the way we consume and interact with digital entertainment on our TVs. In the past year we have seen spending on digital video services, led by US companies Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon’s Prime Video, surge by 38 per cent year-on-year to £2.9bn.***** This is the fastest-growing sector of the UK home entertainment market by far. In ROXi we believe the UK will be a leader in this market too”, says Lewis.

“With Brits spending a record £9bn on music, videos and gaming, we are now primed to tap into this cultural trend bringing ROXi’s TV Music App to millions of UK households this year on Smart and Pay TVs. We’re doing for music what the video-on-demand services have done for movies on the TV, but for free, and in so doing, consumers have a real free music alternative to YouTube for the first time.”

“Annual Smart TV’s sales are now projected to reach 266 million globally by 2025.****** With music videos, gaming and karaoke about to become as mainstream as movies, the opportunities in this space are immense.”

“The mass adoption of Smart TV App’s has enabled us to transform ROXi from a hardware business producing music streaming consoles into a highly scalable music video-based TV Music App available to millions of Smart and Pay TVs users for free.”

“The launch of our new TV App is just the beginning. We have a raft of exciting innovations and experiences on the platform in the pipeline”, concludes Lewis.

ROXi’s new TV Music App is launching on Sky Q, Fire TV, Android TV, Google TV including compatible Sony Bravia, Panasonic, Philips, Toshiba, TCL, HiSense and Shield Smart TV platforms with Samsung TV and others coming soon.

To ensure users with older TVs can still enjoy the service, ROXi offers the ROXi Console and Microphone Controller which works on any TV.*******

New research published

New research carried out by CensusWide and published for the first time - found 83 per cent of UK households now use Smart TVs. Video-On-Demand services like Netflix and Disney+ are driving a surge in consumer downloads and use of TV Apps on Smart and Pay TVs with over 63 per cent of Brits now downloading Apps to their TV.***

The research also found the average British household downloaded their first TV App over two years ago.

In addition to watching on-demand movies and box sets on TV, the ROXi poll found 64 per cent of Brits expressing a preference were interested in free unlimited music video streaming on their TVs with 78 per cent of 25 to 44-year old’s the most enthusiastic at the prospect.

Multi-million pound ROXi TV Ad Campaign

ROXi’s launch of the new Music TV App will be supported by a multi-million-pound TV ad campaign across hundreds of UK TV channels and with over 500 million TV ads by the end of 2021.
