The huge announcements continued on the brand new nationwide Capital Breakfast show this morning as Roman Kemp confirmed yet more of the world’s hottest artists for Capital’s Summertime Ball.
On Saturday 8th June, 80,000 Capital listeners will fill London’s iconic Wembley Stadium for the UK’s hottest summer party with performances from the world’s biggest stars.
Anne-Marie, Sigala, Sigrid, Tom Walker, Jax Jones and Rita Ora were added to the star-studded bill this morning on Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp. They join Maroon 5, Halsey, Mark Ronson, Jonas Brothers, Jess Glynne, 5 Seconds of Summer, Khalid, Ellie Goulding, Mabel, Jonas Blue, Ava Max and Lauv on the line-up, with one more massive artist still to be revealed on Capital Breakfast tomorrow morning.
Kicking off this morning’s big reveal on Capital Breakfast, Roman Kemp confirmed that Anne-Marie will play Capital’s Summertime Ball. The singer is one of the most successful female solo artists to emerge from the UK music scene in recent years and a huge favourite with Capital listeners. Her hits include ‘2002’, ‘Friends’ with Marshmello and her cover of The Greatest Showman’s ‘Rewrite the Stars’ with James Arthur. Last year Anne-Marie’s debut studio album ‘Speak Your Mind’ entered the UK album charts at No.3 and 2019 looks set to be another huge year for the star after she picked up ‘Best Pop’ at The Global Awards with Very.co.uk.
Next to be confirmed for the Ball was Sigala. One of the UK’s biggest DJs and producers, he is guaranteed to get the party started with his chart-topping dance hits. Following a string of top ten smashes including ‘Came Here For Love’ with Ella Eyre and ‘Lullaby’ with Paloma Faith, he dropped his debut album ‘Brighter Days’ last September. It features a stellar cast of guest collaborators including Kylie Minogue, Craig David, Meghan Trainor and French Montana.
One of the most exciting international breakthrough artists to emerge in recent years, Sigrid makes her Capital’s Summertime Ball debut. Hailing from a small town in Norway, the hugely talented singer-songwriter has had an extraordinary past twelve months. After making her mark with singles including ‘Don’t Feel Like Crying’ and the top ten smash ‘Strangers’, she released her eagerly awaited debut album ‘Sucker Punch’ in March to huge acclaim. Her Wembley set promises to be unmissable.
Scotland-born, Manchester-raised Tom Walker’s breakout single ‘Leave A Light On’ established the singer-songwriter as one of the UK’s hottest new talents. The record achieved global sales of 2.5 million and topped the iTunes chart in 20 countries. After releasing his hit ‘Just You And I’ and taking home the prestigious BRIT Breakthrough Artist of the Year award in February, he released his debut album ‘What a Time to Be Alive’ the following month to huge acclaim.
Next up, Roman Kemp announced that South London DJ and international hitmaker Jax Jones will make a welcome return to Capital’s Summertime Ball. The DJ is one of the world’s most sought-after producers and is guaranteed to get the party going when he takes to the decks in Wembley. The GRAMMY nominated star has had over 1.6 billion streams and sold over 15 million singles, with his string of hits including ‘Ring Ring’ with fellow Summertime Baller Mabel, ‘Play’ with Years & Years and his recent collaboration with Martin Solveig and Madison Beer, ‘All Day and Night’.
Rounding up a massive morning of announcements on Capital Breakfast, Roman Kemp revealed that Rita Ora is joining the huge line-up for Capital’s Summertime Ball. The pop superstar’s string of huge hits include The Official Big Top 40 no.1s ‘For You’ and ‘Let You Love Me’. She is one of the most successful UK pop acts of the past decade with 13 top ten singles under her belt. Crowned as winner of ‘Best Pop’ at the inaugural Global Awards in 2018, she’s guaranteed to put on a high energy spectacle for Capital listeners when she performs at the Ball.
One more huge act will be revealed for Capital’s Summertime Ball tomorrow morning on the nationwide Capital Breakfast show with Roman Kemp – tune in across the UK from 6am and look out for the final clue about the massive artist on Capital’s Ball Boards around the UK!
Ashley Tabor OBE, Founder & Executive President of Global, said: “We can’t wait to welcome 80,000 Capital listeners and a world class line-up of incredible artists to Capital’s Summertime Ball this June. We still have one more massive act up our sleeve – all will be revealed on Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp tomorrow, make sure you don’t miss it!”
