The Earthfest Music Summit, a significant feature of the wider Earthfest event, will unite the most progressive sustainability leaders in the music industry for a full-day programme dedicated to tackling the climate crisis and driving real change. Taking place at Sony Music UK in Kings Cross, London, this groundbreaking summit will explore the music industry's role in building a greener future.
Hosted by journalist and climate advocate Greg Cochrane, the summit will open with an exclusive fireside chat featuring legendary drummer Stewart Copeland (The Police).
Madame Gandhi and Philip Selway (Radiohead) will represent EarthPercent. They’ll be joined by experts from Music Declares Emergency, The Music Climate Pact, Julie’s Bicycle, Murmur, Greening Of Streaming, Sony Music, Universal, Warner Music, Ninja Tune, Warp and many more.
Dale Vince (Ecotricity Founder) and Claire O’Neill (A Greener Future) will open the debate on the live industry, whilst the day will conclude with a performance from Natural Symphony.
Jeffery Young, co-founder of Earthfest, said: “The Earthfest Music Summit is about action, music is such a powerful medium for communicating to audiences the importance of addressing climate change. By bringing together key voices from across the industry, we aim to inspire change, foster collaboration, and map out a path towards a more sustainable music sector. We’d like to thank the industry organisations and our sponsor Ecotricity that are supporting us on this journey”.
Throughout the day, key discussions will cover:
- The Music Climate Pact & collective industry action
- The new blueprint for a sustainable live music Industry
- Sustainable physical product manufacturing
- Empowering artists as climate spokespeople
- The environmental impact of streaming’s long tail
Lewis Jamieson, CEO of Music Declares Emergency, says “"The UK music industry is at the forefront of groundbreaking work towards a more sustainable industry. Earthfest 2025 is a perfect moment to reflect on our progress to date and map the next steps in that journey. The Earthfest line-up showcases those leading the charge and we are thrilled to be a part of this vital conversation."
Earthfest welcomes everyone in the wider music industry to join an engaging, insightful, and collaborative gathering.
