Publisher presented Grammy-winning songwriter and producer with plaque to celebrate multi-platinum global success of Tyla’s "Water"

Concord Music Publishing is celebrating the success of Grammy-winning songwriter and producer Sammy SoSo, who signed a new global publishing deal with the company, which covers his catalogue and all future works.

Sammy SoSo, who co-wrote the global hit “Water” by Tyla (who is also published by Concord Music Publishing), was honoured in London with a plaque commemorating the song's multi-platinum global success. "Water" has achieved significant milestones, going double platinum in the U.S., platinum in the United Kingdom, double platinum in Tyla’s native South Africa, and triple platinum in Australia. Earlier this year, “Water” also took home the inaugural Grammy award for Best African Performance.

In addition to “Water,” Sammy co-wrote and produced 10 tracks on Tyla’s debut self-titled album. The collaboration between Sammy and Tyla was facilitated by Concord Music Publishing’s A&R team, led by EVP Worldwide A&R Kim Frankiewicz.

Kim Frankiewicz commented, “We have been on the most incredible journey with Sammy so far! To see the success he has enjoyed with Tyla has been an incredible moment for us as their publisher! For the team and I, this is what it is all about – connecting great songwriters with great artists and making music that leaves a legacy. Congrats, Sammy!”

Sammy SoSo added, “Very grateful to Kim Frankiewicz and all of the Concord team globally who showed belief in me so early on and have truly worked with me over the last few years”.

Sammy has also contributed to two tracks on Kali Uchis’ latest album "ORQUIDEAS" and has releases with Wizkid on his albums “Made in Lagos” and “More Love Less Ego,” along with three tracks on Headie One’s recent album "The Last One." Additionally, he has been working with, Nija Charles, Stargate, Ali Tamposi, Blake Slatkin, and FNZ.
