Bucks Music Group makes first signing in Scandinavia 07 Aug 2019
Bucks Music Group has signed Swedish artist Linn Koch-Emmery to an exclusive worldwide publishing agreement.
The deal is the first artist signing for Bucks Scandinavia, which was set up in 2017 and is run out of Stockholm by Daniel Sly-Platz.
Debuting in 2017, 26-year-old Koch-Emmery gained the attention of blogs and media worldwide and, with her Waves EP in 2018, made her way onto national and international radio, being tipped as an “Artist of the Future” by Swedish National Radio P3.
Since then, Koch-Emmery has completed her ï¬rst European tour as well as playing shows and festivals in the US, Mexico and the UK.
Koch-Emmery has a tireless work ethic – evidenced by the more than 40 shows she’s played in 2019 already. She will play the Honduras stage at Bananpiren Way Out West on Friday 9 August. Her full debut album is in the works.
Bucks Scandinavia Director Daniel Sly-Platz said: “Aside from being a great songwriter – able to effortlessly mix catchy ‘Scandinavian melodies’, sharp lyrics and a 90s-inspired indie guitar sound - Linn is a true career artist. We will work in a coordinated approach with the UK team to help develop her career outside of her local market. She is a frontrunner in the Swedish indie pop scene and her music translates well to the UK, so it’s a project that we’re all eager to get stuck into across territories.”
Pace Management’s Fredrik Andersson said: “We’re extremely excited about signing with Bucks. They have been champions of Linn’s from the start and the team have exactly the right mix of gravitas, flexibility and finesse we need to elevate Linn’s career.”
Bucks Music Group is one of the UK’s leading and longest running international, independent music publishers. It has a rich musical heritage, having been responsible for launching and developing the careers of music legends including David Bowie, T-Rex, The Move, Black Sabbath and Procol Harum. Its active A&R department continues to discover and develop new songwriting talent.
Bucks’ catalogue includes works written by David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, Procul Harum, DJ Fresh, Run The Jewels, Brian Eno, James Blunt, Professor Green, Rudimental, Beyonce, Joe Strummer, CAN, Pete Doherty, Roni Size & Reprazent, David Arnold, Honeyblood, One Bit, The Heavytrackerz , Dusky Grey, Sick Joy, Life, Brooke Bentham, Zand and more. Label publishing partners include: Floor Sixx, Heavenly, Nude, Fulltime Hobby, Brownswood, Rekids, Arts & Crafts, VIVa and No Hats No Hoods.
