Beatchain’s white label arena technology accelerates the A&R process, powering Radio City India’s vision of a one-stop platform for independent artists.

Beatchain, the leading technology team behind the launch of a new A&R tool to accelerate artist growth and discovery, and Radio City India, one of India’s biggest media companies, have partnered to “empower artists and amplify voices” for Indian talent worldwide. Through the partnership, a cutting-edge technology platform and app, outwardly branded as ‘Muzartdisco’, will offer a first of its kind opportunity to independent Indian artists in any genre to release and promote their music.

With oversaturation being an increasing challenge for artists and labels and an estimated 120,000 new tracks uploaded daily to music streaming platforms, Beatchain was established to help talented artists rise to the top. Its white label technology powers digital ‘arenas’ that can be owned and customised by music companies and labels, catering to artists across genres and territories. The arenas offer a comprehensive suite of tools for distributing, promoting and monetising music, while allowing artists to retain their full rights and gain unparalleled data insight into the performance of their music through a personal dashboard.

Through their arenas, labels can offer unique and career changing opportunities that artists can compete for, such as studio sessions, mentoring, collaborations with renowned artists, writers and producers, and photoshoots. Artists are rewarded for achieving cut through, while A&R teams benefit from a tailored filtering process, helping labels build rosters that align with their mission and niche.

Beatchain’s biggest deal to date combines its advanced technology with Radio City India’s market leading expertise in Indian indie music, catering to Indian independent artists on an unprecedented scale. Radio City India, which has been at the forefront of FM radio in India for 25 years, is the country’s number one radio network, with a weekly listenership of over 69 million across 39 cities, and has the highest weekly listenership of all local stations in Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai.

Set to launch at All About Music, India's only B2B music industry conference, in Mumbai on 6August 2024, Muzartdisco will be open to the vast and diverse community of Indian artists worldwide, providing access to Beatchain’s range of creator services, tools and educational content tailored for Indian artists. Artists using Muzartdisco will have the chance to earn career changing opportunities offered by Radio City India, including a nationwide radio breakout campaign with airplay; social media shoutouts across its networks; an artist of the month website feature; and, at the pinnacle, a nomination for a Radio City Freedom Award – an established, nationally recognised awards ceremony celebrating indie music.

Ben Mendoza, CEO at Beatchain said: “Technology has revolutionised the music industry, democratising and globalising access to music for consumers and creating incredible opportunities for artists. But the sheer volume of music now available is making music discovery and cut-through more difficult. Our platform enables A&R teams and labels to identify real talent – those already demonstrating the qualities needed for a thriving music career – and can connect artists directly with industry tastemakers.

“Our new partnership with Radio City India, one of the country’s most prestigious media brands, marks our biggest deal yet. By combining our technology with their extensive reach and passion for Indian independent music, together we can offer Indian artists unparalleled opportunities to launch and sustain a career in music.”

Ashit Kukian, CEO at Radio City India, said: “We are on a mission to captivate and connect with audiences worldwide and this partnership will be yet another stepping stone in that direction. Muzartdisco, India’s first one-stop platform for independent artists, will provide 360-degree opportunities to sustain artistic careers as well as avenues to release, promote and track their growth. Radio City has the right mix of communication and marketing tools to enhance the presence of artists on Muzartdisco. This can be leveraged though cross pollination with Radio City’s other internal intellectual properties like SMINCO, Happydemic, JioTV+ amongst others.

“This strategic alliance will ensure that, by using the latest technologies, we establish a strong foundation for a centre stage where all Indian artists can showcase their talents, get noticed and capture hearts globally.”

The Indian music market has grown exponentially in the last number of years, facilitated by improved access to mobile data, which has helped drive a rise in streaming audiences. According to Luminate’s 2023 end of year report, India saw the biggest year-on-year increase in total annual on demand music streams of any nation last year (up 463.7 billion to 1.037 trillion) and was second only to the United States in annual streaming volume by market.
