Alison Goldfrapp launches own record label A.G Records 02 May 2025
New album, Flux, will be released in partnership with Absolute Label Services on August 15.
“If you’re lucky enough to have the option, owning your own masters feels like a no-brainer!” - Alison Goldfrapp
Electronic pop star Alison Goldfrapp is set to release her second solo album on her own label A.G Records on August 15.
Titled Flux, the album is co-produced by Alison, alongside Richard X and Stefan Storm and will be released in partnership with Absolute Label Services and Fascination Management.
It follows her debut solo album, The Love Invention, which hit Top 10 in the UK in 2023.
Alison Goldfrapp shot to fame at the end of the Nineties as one half of electronic pop duo Goldfrapp alongside Will Gregory, when their 1999 debut album, Felt Mountain, was nominated for a Mercury Prize.
During their career, Goldfrapp produced five Top 10 UK albums and three Top 10 UK singles and were nominated for Best British Dance Act at the 2004 BRIT Awards. Across the Pond, they earned three No.1 US dance singles and received Grammy nominations for Best Electronic/Dance Album at the 49th and 53rd Awards for Supernature and Head First respectively.
The multi-platinum selling duo won a number of prestigious awards including two Ivor Novellos.
Alison Goldfrapp said: “I’ve been intrigued at the prospect of owning my own masters for some time now and, for the first time in my career, I’m in the position to be able to do so. In the process of writing my new record Flux, it felt like the natural time to start my own record label. If you’re lucky enough to have the option, owning your own masters feels like a no-brainer! Being completely in the drivers seat business-wise as well as creatively is an exciting new challenge and I’m looking forward to partnering with Absolute and continuing to work alongside Peter and Adam at Fascination”
Mark Dowling, director at Absolute said: “We’ve had great success working with Peter and Adam at Fascination over the years, so we’re naturally delighted they have chosen the truly independent route to market with Absolute on the magnificent new album from Alison Goldfrapp. It’s a brilliant electro-pop record that both her loyal fans and new audiences will love. We can’t wait to get started.”
Fraser Ealey, senior label manager at Absolute said: “Thrilled to be working with Alison Goldfrapp and Fascination on the campaign for Flux, having been a personal fan of Alison's work since the early Goldfrapp releases. Alison's unwavering attention to detail — from songwriting and production to the visual artwork — is truly inspiring, and Flux is a testament to her incredible creative vision. I can't wait for audiences to experience this sublime piece of work.”
Fascination Management’s Adam Klein said: “Alison is a brilliant force both musically and visually, and it has been a privilege to work together to help amplify her unique creative vision for over a decade. Flux is yet another exciting and innovative sonic achievement - a true masterclass in electronic pop with real heart. It was natural that, when Alison decided to set up her own A.G Records label, we approached Mark and Fraser at Absolute, who we have run several successful campaigns with previously.”
Fascination Management’s Peter Loraine said: “Partnering with Alison to help her achieve her ambitions is exciting. There’s always been a strong collaborative bond between Alison and Fascination, and we’re super excited for this brand new chapter in her 20 year career.”
