Universal Music Publishing Group signs HRVY to global publishing deal

Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG), a leading global publishing company, today announced that rising British pop sensation HRVY has been signed to an exclusive publishing deal.

In 2017, HRVY’s debut EP 'Holiday' featuring Redfoo and Stylo G reached No. 2 on the iTunes album chart and No. 1 on the Spotify Viral Chart. His second EP ‘Talk To Ya’ included the supremely catchy ‘Personal’, which resonated with heartbroken teenagers everywhere and quickly became a viral sensation, racking up over 180 million YouTube views. 2018 has seen the singer/songwriter continue to build on his success, with Latin-influenced ‘Hasta Luego’ (with rising Cuban-American pop star Malu Trevejo) and latest hit single ‘I Wish You Were Here’.

HRVY said: "I’m very grateful to have the opportunity to work with the team at UMPG. I can’t wait to work with the team on more music, it’s a really exciting time for me right now, the future feels exciting."

UMPG UK MD Mike McCormack said: “HRVY is a superstar in the making. He’s hardworking and totally charming with real musical talent. We are so happy that he and his manager Blair chose to partner with us on his journey to world domination in 2019 and we look forward to getting our best writers involved to help along the way.”

Describing his musical style as "definitely pop, but with an R&B influence in places," HRVY has already been collaborating with respected writers and producers on both sides of the Atlantic. Along with UMPG writers Redfoo, Stylo G and Jin Jin, he’s also worked with legendary R&B producer Babyface and written and recorded with The Rascals.

At just 19-years-old, HRVY has already amassed a huge international fan base, boasting 3.9 million Instagram followers, 1.8 million YouTube subscribers and 1 million Facebook followers. Beginning his music career whilst still at school and within 18 months of finishing, he was signed to Virgin EMI in the UK and Capitol in the US.

Outside of the studio this year, HRVY supported The Vamps on their arena tour while also embarking on his own sell-out tour of the UK, Ireland and Europe - including a capacity gig at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire.
