TikTok gives fans the chance to join a virtual Valentine's Day date with dodie and Wes Nelson

Music lovers will also be able to enjoy specially curated playlists, LIVEs and hashtag challenges this Valentine's Day, along with an exclusive full-length concert performance from Justin Bieber

 

TikTok is giving its community the opportunity to go on a 'Virtual Date' for Valentine's Day with singer-songwriter dodie and rising artist Wes Nelson.

On Thursday 11th February, both artists will be doing a TikTok LIVE with Co-Host Jyoty Singh - Rinse FM's top  DJ - where they will answer fans' questions as if they were on a date. To make the shows as interactive as possible, the artists will post a video calling on the community to leave their questions in the comments and the most-liked will then be asked by the Co-Host during the LIVE.

Each chat will peel back the curtain on the artists' personal lives - from their pet peeves to how they like to spend their free time. Want to ask Wes about his dating habits since swapping the Love Island villa for vinyl, or whether his single See Nobody reaching #3 on the UK charts has meant his only one true love is music? How about asking dodie whether her past love experiences have inspired her songwriting or upcoming debut album Build a Problem? 

Wes Nelson said: "With Valentine's Day almost here, I can't wait to take TikTokers on a virtual date. I loved seeing how much fun everyone had with the #SeeNobodyChallenge last year - and I might also reveal a few things about my brand new single!"

Dodie said: "Would you like to go on a Valentine's Date with me? I can't wait to answer fans' questions on all things life and love... Bring on Thursday!"

 

Valentine's Day content whatever your mood 

In addition to the Virtual Dates, TikTok is creating a package of Valentine's Day themed music content on the platform, including:

• #CoversForLovers hashtag challenge to encourage the TikTok community to sing their favourite romantic ballads and put their own spin on classic love songs. Several artists have already jumped on the trend, including Years & Years lead singer Olly Alexander. 
• Curated playlists available on the Sounds Page with iconic love songs for all Valentine's Day vibes. Whether you're in a romantic couple, going through heartbreak or simply sharing the love with friends and family - take your pick from Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You, Leona Lewis' Bleeding Love, Queen's Somebody To Love, Ben E. King's Stand By Me or Black Eyed Peas' Where Is The Love?.
• Justin Bieber #JOURNALSLive, the first ever single-artist, full-length concert performance to air LIVE on TikTok. Featuring Justin’s first-ever performance of songs from his fan-favorite 2013 album JOURNALS, #JournalsLive airs live from The Drew House on Justin’s TikTok account (@justinbieber) at 7pm GMT on Monday February 15th.
• #LockDownLove LIVE series led by Clinical Psychologist Dr Julie Smith unpacking the science of attraction, science of self-love and looking after ourselves and loved ones in lockown. Dr Julie will be hosting four episodes and will be joined by guests including Sophie Hermann (Made in Chelsea, Celebs Go Dating: The Mansion) and Fred Siriex (First Dates).
