The One Show Playlist/Music & Dementia at the BBC - launching 7pm this eve

We are launching The One Show Playlist tonight; a collaboration between BBC Music, The One Show, BBC Sounds and BBC Archive Editorial, as we search for the nation's most uplifting tracks to connect family and friends in isolation.

All our thinking for Music & Dementia at the BBC has been channelled into this new initiative. We shall continue to work on our Music & Dementia initiative in the future, but the power of music can help everyone across the UK today including for those living with dementia. We need to connect through music now more than ever.

We are also launching our new website today, which tells the story of our collaboration and includes links to the BBC Music Memories and Memory Radio resources;

It would be fantastic if you could get behind this initiative and spread the word to your networks. We want as many people as possible to watch the show on BBC One at 7pm tonight and to get involved by contacting them with track suggestions and stories.

Info on how to join in will be shared on the show.

It's vital that people living with dementia, their families, friends and carers are part of this.

And if it takes off, this could be a weekly initiative to help unite the nation through music.

We'd love you to be part of it.
