Strictly Confidential Renews Long-Term Agreements with Balthazar, Nada Surf and Soap&Skin

Sohnarr Announced as new Signing

Independent music publisher Strictly Confidential has announced a number of renewal deals with key artists/writers.

Balthazar, Soap&Skin and Nada Surf have all extended their long-term music publishing deals, while Sohnarr, the new project from former Balthazar violin player Patricia Vanneste, who recently released her debut album ‘Coral Dusk’ on [PIAS], has also joined the Strictly Confidential roster.

Long-term artist relationships are at the heart of the Strictly Confidential ethos with Balthazar (Belgium), Nada Surf (America) and Soap&Skin (Austria) already having spent many years with the company.

Strictly Confidential, who recently announced the signings of Zwangere Guy, blackwave and Glints, have a roster which already includes artists including Editors, Oscar & The Wolf and Jonathan Jeremiah.

The company’s sync department has scored numerous recent successes including landing Balthazar the title song of the successful TV series “La Trêve”, while Soap&Skin’s music was used in the Netflix series “Dark” and a European commercial for Ford Mondeo. In addition, Nada Surf’s cover of the Pixies’ “Where Is My Mind” was recently synced to the new Mugler campaign.

“Throughout the years Strictly Confidential have proven themselves the perfect music publishing partners for Anja to support her career both on an administrative and creative level and therefore we have decided to extend our relationship with them,” said Oliver Kamien, manager of Soap&Skin.

Pierre Mossiat, CEO of Strictly Confidential said, “I would like to thank Balthazar, Nada Surf and Soap&Skin for their continued trust in our company. I am extremely happy that these artists have renewed their relationship with us and look forward to working with them in the next phase of their careers. I also welcome back Patricia to our family. Furthermore, I would like to thank the entire Strictly Confidential team. The fact that these artists stay with us, is the result of the team’s day to day care for and dedication to these artists.”

Established in 1987 by [PIAS] co-founders Michel Lambot and Kenny Gates with Pierre Mossiat, Strictly Confidential has affiliated companies and operations in Belgium, France, and the United Kingdom and is a full-service music publishing company, overseeing both rights management and creative development for the songwriters and composers it represents.
