Sound City secures CAPLL Ltd investment for talent development programmes

CAPLL Ltd, is an established leader in face-to-face, regular giving and lottery fundraising, working to secure high quality, committed donors at sector leading attrition levels.
Now one of the largest in its field across Europe, since 2009, CAPLL Ltd has generated in excess of 1 million long-term donors through lottery and regular giving campaigns.
Sound City is a UK leader in the training and development of music business and artist talent through a range of programmes covering the North West of England and the UK more broadly. They sit alongside its famous Sound City and Off The Record festivals and conferences; Sounds of the Xity, Beijing, in partnership with Modern Sky Entertainment; and Sound City Korea, which sees UK artists showcase at Asia’s biggest industry events Zandari and MUCON.
As part of this collaboration, CAPLL Ltd will also be stage partner for the Emerging Talent stage at Sound City 2020. Artists billed include The Blinders, Mysterines, The Snuts, Marika Hackman, Marsicans and more.
CAPLL Ltd’s investment in Sound City’s development programmes adds to long-term support from Arts Council England - the national development body for arts and culture across England, working to enrich people’s lives. Arts Council England will invest £1.45 billion of public money from government, and an estimated £860 million from the National Lottery to help create these experiences for as many people as possible across the country between 2018 and 2022. Sound City is one of Arts Council England’s national portfolio organisations.
Linked to this announcement, Sound City’s Surgery programme has been rebranded as ‘Launch’.
The programme helps artists over a 12-month period with recording and releasing music; funding; tour management; marketing and PR; personal development; and the transition to treating their band and brand as a business.
12 artists have been named for the 2020 Launch programme. They are The Mysterines, Lydiah, That’s Juvey, Weezy Jefferson, Tomike, Nikki & The Waves, The Sway, Podge, L’nee Golay, Lizzie Ross, Molly Green, and Daddy.
Sound City will measure and evaluate each act’s progression, documenting their journey and showcasing it to the company’s more than 150,000 followers online.
Artists will be given the opportunity to play international showcases, as well as Sound City Liverpool and other Sound City UK events.

Since 2007 Sound City has showcased 5000+ emerging artists to over 274,000 music fans and music industry professionals. It is applauded as the first festival to present UK artists who have since become internationally renowned, these include Florence and the Machine, Ed Sheeran, Alt-J, Royal Blood, Stormzy, Catfish and the Bottlemen, The 1975, Christine and the Queens, Skepta, Wolf Alice Years and Years.
