Prince staff engineer Susan Rogers to be next guest in a special National Album Day edition of “Let’s Talk About Music”

The BPI and Official Charts Company are partnering once again to host Let’s Talk About Music – the online event which discusses music and the impact it has on our lives.

The organisers are delighted to announce that the special guest for this third edition of the event, which takes place on Tuesday 6 October in the week leading up to National Album Day on Saturday 10th October, will be long-time Prince collaborator Susan Rogers.  Susan will be in conversation with Official Charts CEO Martin Talbot, talking about the making of Prince’s iconic Eighties album “Sign O’ The Times” among other greats. In addition, she will also give an insight on her new book on music listening, which will be published in 2021.

To register for a free admission to Let’s Talk About Music on 6 October please see link here.

Susan will need no introduction to Prince fans, having worked closely with him as his Staff Engineer on many of his iconic albums including “Sign O' The Times”, “Purple Rain”, “Around The World In A Day” and “Parade”.  But in a remarkable life that has seen her work as a record producer and sound engineer with many other artists ranging from David Byrne to Tricky, Susan has gone on to pursue a successful academic career and is now an Associate Professor in the Music Production and Engineering and Liberal Arts departments at Berklee College of Music, Boston USA.

The BPI continues to adapt to host online seminars exploring the business side of the music industry. This partnership with the Official Charts Company is one of many born of a desire to lift our community’s spirits in these difficult times by talking about the one love that unites us all: music itself. Previous contributors to the Let’s Talk About Music series include acclaimed music critic Pete Paphides, and broadcaster and London’s Night Czar, Amy Lamé.
