MTV Push: Ones to Watch announce the 2019 shortlist

MTV UK today announced the shortlist for MTV PUSH: Ones to Watch 2019 [formerly known as MTV Brand New], the shortlist includes the UK’s freshest music talent for 2019. In January, the acts will go head to head in a public vote on Instagram, battling it out until the all-conquering winner is revealed in the new year.

Last year Mabel was crowned as MTV Brand New 2018 winner. Since winning the accolade, the young singer/songwriter has had a stellar year- touring with Harry Styles, releasing four new singles and collaborating with some of the industry’s hottest names including Not3s, Raye, Stefflon Don and Jax Jones.

Mabel said, “Becoming MTV’s Brand New for 2018 kicked off the most exciting year of my career so far. To be recognised by a brand as iconic as MTV was surreal, and I’m so grateful for their unwavering support. I cannot wait to see what lies in store for 2019’s MTV PUSH: Ones to Watch champion.”

Previous MTV Brand New [now known as MTV PUSH: Ones to Watch] campaigns have also championed the biggest breakthrough acts such as; Anne-Marie, AJ Tracey, Ella Eyre, George Ezra, James Bay, Krept & Konan, Sam Smith, The Vamps and Years & Years.

To celebrate the announcement of this year’s MTV Push: Ones to Watch shortlist, MTV will be holding a launch event at Tape, on Tuesday 27 November.
