MelodyVR partners with O2 as 5G launches

MelodyVR has announced an exclusive UK partnership with mobile operator O2, representing a major development for the virtual reality music company.
The relationship kicks off with MelodyVR unveiled as the exclusive music partner of O2’s 5G UK launch today.
People who sign up to the 5th generation of music custom plan will receive 12 months of access to MelodyVR, allowing them to enjoy the world’s largest library of immersive music performances and a unique schedule of live events, as well as an Oculus Go device.
With MelodyVR, O2 5G customers will now be able to experience music events virtually and won’t miss out on live shows and festivals due to barriers such as distance, cost or ticket availability. Due to 5G, consumers will be able to realise an extremely high-quality MelodyVR experience from their mobile devices, without the need for broadband or Wi-Fi.
The game-changing collaboration with O2 – one of the country’s largest mobile networks with a customer base of 25m - is the latest in a series of big milestones for MelodyVR, all aimed towards significantly increasing the audience of its ground-breaking service. It comes hot on the heels of MelodyVR recently launching on smartphones, supplementing its VR headset offering.
Already the leader in live music virtual reality due to its unparalleled catalogue of real-time and on-demand content, and its relationships with global artists, leading venues and events, the O2 deal will allow more music fans than ever before to be transported from their living rooms, to amazing music performances around the world.
