Marathon Artists LABs, which is run from Marathon Music Group’s HQ at Tileyard Studios in London, has already collaborated with a wide range of music start-ups to accelerate business development objectives whilst building a pipeline of sales prospects within the music sector.
The first Marathon Artists Labs programme launched in 2016 focused on “tools for artist managers”. Alumni went on to win Midem LAB awards and successfully raised series A funding.
The second programme continued the creator-centric theme with a cohort focused on the topic of “music related content monetization in today’s digital landscape,” with a number of successful funding rounds resulting for those companies participating.
Additionally, former programme alumni and content producers Mahogany Sessions & Dummy Mag have both launched joint-venture record labels with Marathon Music Group.
Tanguy Giraud, COO & Programme Director at Marathon Artists Labs said, “Marathon Music Group is excited to welcome this incredible line up of entrepreneurs and innovative businesses to our third tech start-up accelerator programme. They are all building tools enhancing the processes around one of the core purposes of our industry: the discovery of new talent.”
Dan Rainey, Head of Events, Marketing & Partnerships at Tileyard said, "This is an exciting opportunity for Tileyard London to support Marathon Artist Labs in developing opportunities for the five companies participating in this latest programme. They are tackling some of the key questions affecting our industry using innovative technology and original thinking. Like Marathon, we believe in supporting good ideas and look forward to welcoming this year’s cohort into our thriving community.”
