Latest BPI ‘Wisdom Wednesdays’ event focuses on the music business career paths ‘less travelled’

July 10th panel includes representatives from Warner Music UK, Abbey Road, Lewis Silkin & Kobalt, exploring music careers beyond the traditional roles

UK record labels association the BPI has announced the fifth edition of its popular “Wisdom Wednesdays” event, which returns to Gibson Brands, 61-62 Eastcastle St, Fitzrovia, London W1T 3QT on July 10th.

Launched in April 2018, this event gives BPI members and invited guests the opportunity to network, learn and be inspired. The evening consists of two parts – a panel discussion and Q&A with four successful professionals from the music industry about their personal journey, offering invaluable insight into their thought processes, followed by a mixer with free drinks and pizza.

Our 10th July panel explores the road less travelled in the music industry, offering invaluable insight from renowned industry professionals who are building an influential music career beyond the traditional roles, such as marketing and A&R.  Panellists include Lewis Silkin LLP’s Cliff Fluet, Abbey Road Studios MD Isabel Garvey, Kobalt’s Dario Morelli, and Warner Music UK’s Kate Shepherd(See below for more details).

Our panel will take us through their work to date, offering insight from their journey down the career path’s less travelled with backgrounds in legal, television/film, tech, data and analytics. Although often less visible in the direct impact they have on artists’ careers, these roles are pivotal in building the industry’s solid core, as well as driving progress through strategy, innovation, technology and more.

Our four previous Wisdom Wednesdays events hosted speakers from AEI, Barbican, BMG, Columbia Records, Concord Music, Dirty Hit, Downtown Music, Glassnote UK, Kobalt/AWAL, Machine Management, #Merky, PIAS, Remote Control Agency, Sony Music, Warner Music and Yes Please. BPI Members are urged to book their free place HERE in advance as all previous events have sold out.
