Kacey Musgraves, George Ezra and Andy C presented awards to celebrate first time achievements at the SSE Arena, Wembley



Awards were recently presented to CMA winner Kacey Musgraves, singer-song writer George Ezra and drum’n’bass legend Andy C for a series of monumental firsts at The SSE Arena, Wembley.

American country music singer-songwriter Kacey Musgraves was presented an award for her first ever headline arena show in the UK at The SSE Arena, Wembley as part of her ‘Oh, What a World’ Tour by the venue’s Vice President and General Manager, John Drury.

The Grammy-nominated country star brought her prestigious Country Music Awards album of the year winning ‘Golden Hour’ to the arena and provided fans with a progressive mainstream pop take on traditional country music. Joined by her six-man band, she effortlessly pleased the crowd with fan favourites such as piano ballad ‘Rainbow’, the harmonious ‘Butterflies’ and ‘Velvet Elvis’.

Singer-songwriter George Ezra was also presented with an award for his first ever headline arena show at The SSE Arena, Wembley by John Drury and the venue’s Bookings Manager, James Harrison.

Ezra greeted his sold out arena crowd with a huge grin before launching into ‘Don’t Matter Now’ to rapturous applause. The opening was then chased with the world-famous “Hello Wembley” phrase, marking Ezra’s leap to arena headliner status in epic fashion.

Andy C, one of the most prominent figures in global dance music culture was presented an award frame for selling out the first ever all-nighter at The SSE Arena, Wembley by James Harrison. Andy C’s manager Scott Bourne (Are One Management) was also present to receive an award in front of the venue’s famous Gable End on Arena Square.
The milestone event ran from 9pm through to 5am the next morning, with Andy C taking to the stage at midnight. This is the first time an all-night event has taken place at The SSE Arena, Wembley throughout its long and prestigious history. An amazing recap video of the event can be viewed here.

John Drury, VP and General Manager of The SSE Arena, Wembley, said: “We’re proud that The SSE Arena, Wembley continues to host so many milestone shows from first-time headliners. Each one builds on the already iconic nature of our venue. 2018 has been our busiest year since reopening in 2006 and we hope that 2019 will be even busier, with even more opportunities for the next generation of headliners to get their ‘Hello Wembley’ moment.”
