Good Soldier and the BPI celebrate the One Billion Stream milestone for Gavin James

Gavin’s recently released second album, Only Ticket Home, features the hit singles 'Always', 'Tired', 'Glow', ‘Hearts on Fire” and ‘Cigarette Break’.  His debut album, “Bitter Pill” contains the massive chart-topping hit single, “Nervous (The Ooh Song)”.

A truly global campaign, Gavin started 2018 with a trip to Brazil where the single “Always” hit #1 and is still getting massive radio play on the back of the BPI Music Growth support campaign in that market, with a Brazil live show is now announced for March this year.  In other markets “Always” is a platinum single in Ireland and Switzerland, is still #1 on Shazam in Portugal and #1 in Switzerland.  Earlier single, “Hearts on Fire” is Gold in Ireland and “Glow” is a hit single in Ireland, Holland and Belgium.

Christian Tattersfield (Founder Good Soldier) speaks about the campaign:
“GJ is the perfect example of our artist development strategy at Good Soldier: partnering with an incredible artist who has a killer work ethic, then building a worldwide live and sales foundation over multiple album cycles. We believe Gavin is one song away from becoming a major global star”

Geoff Taylor, Chief Executive BPI & BRIT Awards, said:
“We’re delighted at the news that Gavin has passed 1 billion streams around the world, in particular since his global career has been supported with funding from the Music Exports Growth Scheme, which BPI administers.  MEGS funding helped Gavin to grow his profile in Brazil, where he now has an impressive following, and we hope his upcoming tour will see him gain many more international fans.”

Having played sold out shows across the globe, and the honor of supporting superstar level artists like Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith, Gavin is looking forward to his 2019 World Tour which starts this month.
