Founder of The Outside Orginisation Alan Edwards inducted into the PR Week Hall Of Fame

Alan Edwards, founder of leading PR agency The Outside Organisation was tonight (Wednesday October 18) inducted into the PR Week Hall of Fame. Edwards is only the third recipient of this major honour and joins Matthew Freud and Lord Tim Bell as Hall of Fame members.

Long-term client Roger Daltrey of The Who presented Edwards with the accolade during the annual PR Week Awards, attended by industry peers from across the public relations world.

Roger Daltrey saidFrom sleeping on the couch in the office when he started work for the great Keith Altham, his enthusiasm and dedication to the job hasn't changed in 40 years. He's the guv'ner!"

In the course of his 40 year career Alan has represented an eclectic range of clients including the biggest music stars on the planet, corporations and brands, government, royalty, celebrities, charities, events and sports legends.

Alan Edwards saidPR people are storytellers but this is one narrative that I could never have envisaged. I’m proud and excited to receive this award in equal measure so thank you to PR Week and all the clients, colleagues, clients and journalists I've worked with across the years.”

The award follows Alan and The Outside Organisation having previously been named the Number 1 Entertainment PR Company by industry bible PR Week for an unprecedented third year in a row in 2017.

Alan became the only PR operator to exhibit at the prestigious V&A Museum when he staged a unique three week long event reflecting on the evolving role of PR in fashion, culture, media, entertainment, sport and politics.

From his days representing punk bands in the 70s to working with global superstars, brands and businesses today, Alan has always lived by an ethos of telling compelling stories for his clients in an honest, creative and impactful way.

PRWeek’s editor in chief, Danny Rogers said: “Alan defined entertainment PR in the modern era. He is consistently proud of being in PR and of the compelling stories he narrates for his clients. He forms longstanding relationships with high profile clients and media but, in person, remains relaxed and engaging. All these attributes only shine more brightly in today’s relentless digital age.”
