To honour the greatest classical composers of all time, global music streaming service, Deezer, has launched its new special playlist series ‘The Composers’. This special series will delve into the work of five of the world’s most famous composers, providing a deeper insight into their personal lives and music.

Each playlist will shine the spotlight on one composer per week, starting with Johann Sebastian Bach and going through to Ludwig van Beethoven, Frédéric Chopin, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.  This week’s first episode focuses on Bach and features nine of his biggest classics such as ‘Brandenburg Concerto No.3’, ‘We Sit Us Down in Tears’ and ‘Cello Suite No.1’.

Between each track, presenter Lucy Coward will take classical fans through a journey of discovery of Bach’s life and influences. This week, Lucy will explore all aspects of Bach’s past including his love for the organ from a young age, his large brood of 20 children and even a surprising jail term!

Chris Baughen, VP of Content & Formats at Deezer commented: “Music fans worldwide can enjoy the works of their favourite composers on Deezer, while learning interesting and unusual facts about their lives. Understanding this rich historical context helps classical aficionados delve even deeper into the meaning behind the music.”

The Composers will be released each week on Deezer and available worldwide. The launch begins with playlists for Bach and Mozart.
