Concert TV launches a spectacular digital show that puts the viewer in charge of what they watch

Who will perform? You decide.

That is the question poised by Concert TV, a fresh viewing platform designed to bring the thrill of live music to millions of viewers’ screens from the comfort of their own home but with a major twist.

Unlike a conventional evening at the theatre, Concert TV puts the public in charge of deciding who will headline weekly performances that will be broadcast worldwide online.

Concert TV works by inviting members of the public to nominate via phone or text the artist they would most like to see perform at an upcoming show.

Once the weekly poll closes and nominations have been counted and verified, Concert TV will ensure viewers’ demands are met by negotiating a deal with the public’s chosen star for them to perform live on a selected date.

A spokesperson for Concert TV said: “Concert TV is about putting the public in charge of major live stream performances headlined by some of the world’s most respected artists.

“Of course, we could develop a shortlist of acts that have agreed to performing on Concert TV for the public to choose from. But that takes away from the excitement that our shows will generate in the build up to a live performance.

“We are well connected in the music industry and have the power to attract global superstars onto our shows, but audience engagement is at the core of our philosophy – we want the public to be in full control of what we deliver.”

Produced by Karma TV - a broadcast and live streaming company based in London – Concert TV performances will be filmed at one of the Karma TV’s three studios in Twickenham, Covent Garden and Windsor and be presented outside Leicester Square’s ODEON cinema.

Dependant on the relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions, one lucky voter will be chosen at random each week too to receive an exclusive behind-the-scenes backstage pass and meet their idols on Leicester Square’s iconic red carpet.

“Now, for the first time, the public can have their say on which celebrity acts perform week in, week out,” added the spokesperson. “But this is also a chance for some rising stars of the industry to perform in the company of the world’s leading names, we cannot wait to get started.”

Ticketing and streaming for Concert TV will be supplied by TicketCo Media Services, a market leading pay-per-view live streaming and video on demand service within the UK event industry.

TicketCo’s streaming solution is built on top of its payment platform, enabling monetising opportunities and providing event organisers with a peerless one-stop=shop for virtual and physical tickets, goods or services.

David Kenny, Global Partnerships Director at TicketCo Media Services, added: “Karma TV has a proven track record in television with many years’ experience in the industry and we are delighted to be providing ticketing and streaming solutions for this exciting new project, the timing of which, could not be better, in the current climate.

“The pandemic has accelerated the public’s demand for live stream and on-demand performances. Concert TV is exploiting this gap in the market by putting audience engagement at the core of their work to bring some of the biggest names in music directly to your living room.”

TicketCo Media Services is a cloud-based platform that provides pay-per-view streaming and on-demand services combined with a digital ticketing solution.
