Audoo lands new CTO Steve Robbins from sound experts Bowers & Wilkins

London-based music technology company Audoo continues its rapid growth by further strengthening their executive team with the addition of Steve Robbins joining as Chief Technology Officer.

Robbins leaves his previous role of Head of Software at the heritage audio leader Bowers & Wilkins. In his new role as Chief Technology Officer, Robbins will oversee the delivery and rollout of Audoo’s industry leading Audio Meter, as well as the development and deployment of the company’s data platform’s.

Commenting on Robbins’ joining Audoo this month, CEO and Founder, Ryan Edwards said: “This is an important role for the company as we are currently rolling out Audio Meters around the world. Steve brings a wealth of experience and understands both the nuances of the music & technology industries with the level of accuracy Audoo is committed to delivering to all our partners”

At Bowers & Wilkins, Robbins was tasked with building out the software development team along with the design and set up of their new cloud platform. This platform allowed users personalised access to multiple hi-resolution music services in the recently launched Bowers & Wilkins Music app.

Prior to Bowers & Wilkins, Robbins was CTO at SaaS start-up Audiogum, as well as CTO for the Nokia MixRadio music service. Making him extremely well positioned to deliver the end to end technology that underpins Audoo’s mission of ‘revolutionising through accuracy’.

On joining the team, Robbins said: “What Audoo has achieved in such a short space of time is really inspiring. As the company makes the move from start-up to scale-up, I couldn’t imagine a better time to join the business. The desire to deliver a greater level of data accuracy in the public performance space has never been more timely as the world starts to emerge from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Audoo is going to play a huge part in this and I’m excited to be making this happen for all artists”.

The news follows the recent announcement of the closure of Audoo’s £5.2m series A funding round in late 2020, which included investment from ABBA’s Björn Ulvaeus and Tileyard London.
