ASM Global appoint Sam Ryder as General Manager of York Barbican

ASM Global, the world’s leading producer of entertainment experiences, venue management and event strategy, today announces the appointment of Sam Ryder, as General Manager of York Barbican.  

Sam joins from ASM Global operated Bonus Arena in Hull, where he has worked as Head of Operations, and as part of the team to first open the arena in 2018. During his time at the Bonus Arena, Sam and his team successfully delivered sell-out live events including performances by Noel Gallagher, Stereophonics, and Michael McIntyre, as well as conferences and private events for clients such as Wren Kitchens and Renewables UK.

Sam has been instrumental in the success of Bonus Arena, Hull as part of the senior team opening and operating the arena. Sam Ryder will begin his new role from July 2022, as York Barbican heads into a busy summer, with events including the Cazoo UK Snooker Championship, Jason Manford, Katherine Ryan, Marc Almond, The Proclaimers and Jools Holland.
