AIM announces new chair

Peter Quicke of Ninja Tune appointed

The Association of Independent Music (AIM), which represents the UK’s independent music sector, has announced a new Chair.

Peter Quicke, the Managing Director of Ninja Tune, takes up the position with immediate effect and replaces Tim Dellow of Transgressive.

The AIM Chair is a board appointment and rotates annually, although Tim Dellow has been in the role for two years at the special request of the board in order to assist with the transition of Paul Pacifico into the role of CEO. 

London based Ninja Tune was founded by Matt Black and Jonathan More – aka Coldcut- in 1990, with Peter Quicke joining the management team two years later. The company’s reputation for signing forward-thinking, unconventional artists has attracted the likes of The Cinematic Orchestra, DJ Food, The Heavy, Fink, Lou Rhodes, Kate Tempest, Roots Manuva, Young Fathers and Mr. Scruff to its roster. 

The company now has offices in Los Angeles and Montreal, and the label has established an excellent reputation and strong networks across the globe. Ninja Tune now also acts as an umbrella for other creative hot houses such as Flying Lotus' Brainfeeder imprint, and the brilliant Werkdiscs / Ninja Tune, the label founded by Actress.
