Viacom Names Philip Jenner Vice President, Government Relations – Europe

WASHINGTON, D.C., June 5, 2008 – Viacom Inc. (NYSE: VIA and VIA.B) today announced the appointment of Philip Jenner to the new position of Vice President, Government Relations – Europe. Mr. Jenner, who joins Viacom from Discovery Communications, will be based in London and report to DeDe Lea, Viacom’s Executive Vice President of Government Relations.

In this role, Mr. Jenner will establish Viacom’s lobbying presence in the United Kingdom and European Union, developing and advocating the Company’s public policy positions. He will also be responsible for developing strategic relationships with various trade associations and certain non-governmental organizations across Europe.
In making the announcement, Ms. Lea said, "We’re delighted to have Philip join our strong government relations team. He brings tremendous expertise in the area of public policy development on media and communications issues in the U.K. and European Union. His knowledge and understanding of the legislative and regulatory environments will help to ensure that Viacom is an active participant in the process. I look forward to working with Philip and to the many contributions I know he will make.”

Mr. Jenner joined Discovery Communications in mid-2005, where he most recently served as Director of International Public Policy and Government Affairs. In this role, he represented Discovery’s business interests in policy discussions with national government leaders as well as the European Union (E.U.). He also was responsible for licensing and regulatory compliance in the U.K., and chaired Discovery’s Compliance Committee.

Prior to that, Mr. Jenner spent nearly 10 years at BSkyB as a Senior Public Affairs Advisor where he assisted in the development and communication of BSkyB’s position on a variety of major U.K and E.U. policy issues. During his tenure there, he was seconded to the Cabinet Office Regulatory Impact Unit for 18 months to lead a joint Cabinet Office/DfES project to reduce bureaucracy in schools.

In previous years, Mr. Jenner served as a Senior Account Manager for the Westminster Communications Group. He earned a degree with honors in philosophy, politics and economics from Oxford University.
