We say

Nashville-based musician and songwriter Lillie Mae is signed to Jack White’s Third Man Records and this beautiful track is one of the highlights from her latest album for the label, titled Forever And Then Some. Mae’s worked with Jack as part of his touring and recording band for five years now. White has produced the entire collection and it's already had a load of critical praise heaped upon it from Rolling Stone, Paste and the LA Times among others. Ahead of its upcoming UK release, there’s been keen support from BBC London and 6 Music, and we suspect this opening song from it could see her become a word-of-mouth buzz artist very soon indeed. The sounds and genres that Lillie’s neatly fused here are all organic and deeply embedded in Americana, namely bluegrass, folk, country and the work of legendary old-skool balladeers. Her voice is welcoming and accessible as say Sheryl Crow’s, but shot through with an even more rootsy authenticity, making it distinctive and memorable. Laid-back, easy-going and mellow, every perfect summer soundtrack playlist needs this near the top.
