We say

With a range of influences from the worlds of jazz, neo soul, funk, hip-hop and R&B, Ella Frank delivers something beautifully smooth here on this gorgeous track. Taking her name from a combination of Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra, this young east London singer-songwriter and performer made us sit up and take note with her track Sugar towards the end of last year. To date that’s racked up almost 140,000 Spotify streams and found favour not just here in the UK but particularly in Holland, where her sound has been well-received. We hear elements of Corinne Bailey Rae’s great debut album shining through in her voice here, as she tells the tale of that instant connection one often feels if you catch the eyes of a stranger, who you then never see again, but also never forget. She's featured in the Compass section of our weekly magazine, and received support from 6 Music, Mi-Soul, Represent Radio, MTV and OnSmash among others. The vibe created here is so welcoming and inclusive, you can’t fail to be drawn in by it. A perfect chilled weekend groove.
