We say

London-based, but originally from Wales, Rhys Williams is a singer-songwriter whose backstory includes playing flute for Morrissey on record and on tour, but here he delivers a sound that reminiscent of the classy musical output from Ben Folds and The Feeling. This song comes from his forthcoming album We Are Climbing Angel Mountain, the follow-up to critically-acclaimed debut Great Falls. It all came about after he fell ill, stopped drinking and lost his mother in the space of just a few months. Those significant events jolted Rhys into rethinking every aspect of his life and dumping all the negativity that such a position could easily have swept him up into. Instead, it helped produce truly heartfelt, honest writing with Lightning being a prime example. See him live in London on March 1 when he launches the album at a gig at The Crowndale, near Koko. Lyrically here, he questions we’d all do in our final hours, such as dismissing the notion at first, then partying like mad before finally standing in silence. It's top-notch quality songwriting from a great homegrown artist.
