The Sound Of You

Artist: The Honey Ants

We say

A rather sublime, atmospheric slice of Americana, this The Honey Ants track has elements of Chris Isaak and Mazzy Star coursing through its dreamy opening before building with some glorious harmonies over a slide guitar that runs deep through its veins. Produced by themselves but expertly mixed by Grammy-award winner Matt Lawrence (noted for his work with Mumford & Sons, Laura Marling and The Vaccines amongst others), John Grimsey and Rebecca Hamer aptly describe their sound as East Nashville meets East London. They formed in 2013, played the Hard Rock Rising Stage at the Isle Of Wight Festival last summer and recently did their first London headline show at the Servant’s Jazz Quarters, selling out the gig in the process. Next up, The Borderline on August 25 supporting Canadian roots-rockers The Bros. Landreth. Support at radio has come from 6 Music here and WFUV in New York whilst blogs Gigwise, Americana UK and Folk Radio UK have already shown love for the band. Textured to perfection, we'll happily lose ourselves in this for days on end.
