We say

Get set for more energetic rabble rousing from Bristol band The Jacques, hot on the heels of Pretty DJ which we featured at the back end of last year from their debut EP. This latest track is already finding favour at 6 Music and Amazing Radio, through specialist plays at Radio 1 and on the XFM evening playlist, standing out with that truly unique vocal from singer Fin that makes you sit up and wonder if it’s a boy or a girl taking the lead.  With a new EP planned for the summer, their live sound is being neatly honed too through endless stints gigging across the UK and most recently they played the XFM All Dayer at Camden’s Barfly. They’re back in London this weekend on Sunday (March 1) for a show at Notting Hill Arts Club Communion Night. Still in their teens and early twenties, we love the punk DIY feel that the song conjures up, as if a bunch of enthusiastic chirpy urchins just plugged in and unwittingly stumbled upon the fact that they’re actually really good and could easily pull this whole rock star lark off. Cheeky.
