We say

One of the great things we love about the sound that Kan Wakan make is that it's incredibly hard to pigeonhole. For your delight here, we offer up magnificently lush string arrangements, a cool bassline and a soulful vocal that harks back to many of the great female torch singers of the 1960s. Drenched in reverb, Kristianne Batista sings her heart out on this wonderful track that's currently finding lots of love from Gideon Coe and others at BBC 6 Music. It comes from the debut album Moving On and the main trio (comprising of the Filipino front-lady Batista, the supremely versatile founder, multi-instrumentalist and composer Gueorgui I. Linev from Bulgaria, plus producer/guitarist Peter Potyondy) return to the UK for what promise to be some truly unique live dates in September. This is a sophisticated grown-up sound that anyone with a sense of music's relationship with cinema will fully appreciate. The influences are too numerous to list but the resulting track is a thing of shimmering beauty. Lovingly honed to aural perfection by three truly talented individuals working together beautifully throughout, just simply prepare to be mesmerised.
