UNIVERSAL MUSIC PUBLISHING RENEWS WORLDWIDE AGREEMENT WITH METROPHONIC

Universal Music Publishing (UMP) has announced the renewal of its worldwide publishing agreement with award-winning British music publisher and production company Metrophonic.

The deal was announced by Paul Connolly, President of Europe and UK, Universal Music Publishing and Brian Rawling, Managing Director of Metrophonic.

Since its inception, Metrophonic’s songwriters have achieved massive worldwide success with a host of artists from Enrique Iglesias, Celine Dion, Lionel Richie and Cher to Olly Murs, One Direction, James Morrison and Example.

The agreement encompasses songs from the likes of three time Ivor Novello winning songwriter Paul Barry, including ‘Let It Go’, the forthcoming single from James Bay’s #1 album ‘Chaos And The Calm’. It also includes songs by Grammy Award winner Mark Taylor, co-writer and producer of ‘Heartbeat’ for Enrique Iglesias feat. Nicole Scherzinger; plus Alex Smith who co-wrote Olly Murs’ UK no 1 ‘Heart Skips A Beat’. Metrophonic’s upcoming songs include co-writes for James Morrison, Nelly Furtado, Enrique Iglesias, Ella Eyre, The Vamps and more.

Brian Rawling, himself a Grammy Award-winning producer, says “Metrophonic has always had a great relationship with Paul Connolly and his team at Universal Music Publishing. We collaborate daily, and they’ve been a positive supporter of Metrophonic over the past 10 years. It’s with great pleasure that we’ve renewed our administration agreement for the long haul – it’s a great fit and we look forward to many more years of hit songs together.”

Paul Connolly said: “Metrophonic’s songwriters and producers have an international reputation for delivering hits and we’re proud to represent their outstanding songs. Above all, Brian’s commitment to his songwriters and producers is an inspiration to everyone on the team here at Universal. We love working with him and I’m delighted that we’re able to extend our relationship with Metrophonic.”
