UNIVERSAL MUSIC PUBLISHING GROUP PROMOTES RANDI OLSEN TO SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT - INCOME TRACKING AND ANALYTICS

Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) has promoted Randi Olsen to Senior Vice President, Income Tracking and Analytics, it was announced today by Michael J. Sammis, Executive Vice President - Operations & Chief Financial Officer Worldwide, UMPG.

Ms. Olsen will continue to be based out of the company’s worldwide headquarters in Santa Monica, California and report to Sammis. Prior to her promotion, Olsen served as Vice President of Income Tracking.

In her new role, Ms. Olsen will expand the department’s operational scope to provide UMPG writers with key analytic insights related to its global income streams. She will also continue to oversee UMPG’s North America income tracking efforts, which include forecasting and reviewing payments to ensure receipts are accurate; liaising with staff, writers, labels, performing rights organizations and other publishers.

In making the announcement, Sammis said: “The importance of ‘income tracking’ in the music publishing industry cannot be overstated. Randi's commitment to this process provides immeasurable value to UMPG and its songwriter partners. She and her staff work closely with all departments, including Licensing and Creative, to identify issues and secure, protect and maximize our collective economic interests. This is a well-deserved promotion and I look forward to continuing to work closely with Randi and her team.”

“It’s an exciting time at Universal Music Publishing and it has been a blessing to work with Mike Sammis and the team for the last 18 years! I’m very grateful for the incredible opportunity to expand our income tracking operations, particularly during this time in our business when this area is even more complex and important to the future of our industry,” said Olsen.

Olsen joined UMPG in 1997 and established the Income Tracking department which, in 18 years under her direction, has identified more than $30 million of previously misdirected or uncollected revenue for the company and its artists and writers. Prior to UMPG, Olsen worked in Income Tracking at Windswept Pacific Music Publishing.
