Universal Music Publishing Group Appoints Jake Simon Director, Creative
18 October 2016 - Press releaseUniversal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) has appointed Jake Simon to Director of Creative, UMPG. The announcement was made today by David Gray, UMPG EVP/Head of West Coast A&R.
Reporting to Gray, Simon joins UMPG from Atlas Music Publishing, where he served as Director, Creative and handled talent development, acquisitions and worked with an extensive roster including Toby Gad, Makeba Riddick, Best Kept Secret, Major Myjah, and Mike and Keys among others. Prior to Atlas Music Publishing, he served as Associate Director of Writer/Publisher relations at Broadcast Music International (BMI), where he signed writers, helped curate showcases and worked with such artists and songwriters as Emily Warren, Chloe Angelides, Betty Who and Parson James.
“We’re very pleased to have Jake join our A&R team at UMPG. He’s an incredibly creative A&R exec and brings a wealth experience from both the publishing and PRO side. Jake’s also an accomplished musician in his own right, so he will easily relate with our artists and writers," said Gray.
