Tileyard, comprising of Tileyard Studios, Tileyard Music, Tileyard Education, Tileyard Ventures and the soon to be launched Tileyard North in Wakefield, is celebrating five hugely successful years in music by hosting an anniversary event ‘TY5’ on Thursday 1st December.

The creative hub situated in Kings Cross, London, Tileyard Studios is set out over a private 150,000 sq. ft. site and includes 75 recording studios, making it the largest concentration of music studios in the world. The space is home to artists such as Mark Ronson, The Prodigy, Chase and Status and Sigala and music company heavy weights such as Echo Location, Sound Advice and Notting Hill Music. In addition to music, the development is also home to fashion companies, including Kate Moss Agency and Pretty Green, film and TV, tech and gaming.

Also based on-site is Tileyard Music, the 'in-house' music company of Tileyard, which comprises of three separate services; management (Sigala, Ella Eyre, Tiggs Da Author, Imani Williams, Sondr, Tiggi Hawke and Jones), label and publishing. The company have had huge success including several UK number 1 and platinum records such as Sigala’s 'Easy Love' and Kygo’s 'Stole the Show'.

Set up five years ago by Michael Harwood, Nick Keynes, Paul Kempe and Charlie Arme, Tileyard Music has become one of the most talked about companies in the independent music sector. This year alone they have been nominated for several awards in Music Business Worldwide’s ‘The A+R Awards’ and at The Hospital Club Awards, plus had features in both Music Week and Sunday Times Culture.

Built on an ethos of finding and developing new talent, education is key to the Tileyard philosophy. Tileyard Education is the latest addition to the Tileyard group and they are developing a post-graduate and professional training facility, which will house a world-class recording studio, tech lab, production/songwriting rooms and a lecture space. Tileyard Education also plans to launch a series of validated MA Masters programmes from September 2017, specialising in Commercial Songwriting and Production, Music Industry Entrepreneurship, Creative Digital Design (2018) and Digital Film and TV (2019).

With Tileyard North in development, 2017 is set to be an incredibly exciting year. To celebrate the first five however, Tileyard are hosting ‘TY5’ on Thursday 1st December at Tileyard Studios, an evening of music and celebration, where guests can expect some very special performances from artist within the Tileyard family including; Sondr, Tiggs Da Author, Sigala and Imani Williams.

Nick Keynes comments, “Back in 2011 we had a vision to bring creatives together in an environment centred predominantly around music, but also encompassing film, TV, fashion and tech. Five years on, Tileyard is a thriving community of great people doing amazing things and has become one of the most important creative communities in Europe, if not the world. ‘TY5’ is a celebration of not only the last five years, but also of a very exciting future!”

Michael Harwood and Charlie Arme comment, “It's been an amazing journey and a fantastic first five years together. Our team has built an eclectic and successful roster and we are looking forward to getting all of our artists together to celebrate at the party. Roll on 2017!”
