TicketWeb partners with the British Music Embassy & DIY at SXSW

In their on-going commitment to supporting home-grown British talent TicketWeb, a division of Live Nation Entertainment and the UK's leading ticket agency for independent live music, is partnering with the British Music Embassy at SXSW to bring the best new British acts to Texas.

TicketWeb, in collaboration with DIY magazine, will host its first ever official SXSW showcase at the British Music Embassy’s dedicated music venue Latitude 30. The night will feature performances from Brits SuperGlu (Essex, UK), Doe (London, UK), Jamie Isaac (London UK), Blaenavon (Hampshire, UK) and Muncie Girls (Exeter, UK). As a nod to the special relationship that exists between the UK and the USA, TicketWeb and DIY will have one of their favourite bands from across the Atlantic, Forth Wanderers, open the night.

Punters will receive a unique Collector Ticket they can scan with their mobile phone to unlock an interactive version of the TicketWeb & DIY guide to SXSW - covering all of the ‘must-see’ British bands hitting the stage throughout the Festival. Developed by Ticketmaster, this innovative technology offers fans a unique and immersive experience with the use of Shazam’s visual recognition feature.

For the second year running, TicketWeb will also be an associate sponsor of the British Music Embassy’s afternoon showcases taking place each day from 2-6pm at Latitude 30 at SXSW.

P-C Rae at British Music Embassy, said: “We put together this whole thing to give new UK acts the best possible platform at SXSW. It’s a really expensive gig showcasing for a band to do with flights, visas, hotels - and there’s just no point spending all that money to do a show that’s not going to look and sound first class. Delivering this is by no means a cheap and cheerful exercise, and it’s only thanks to partners like Ticketweb that we are able to give rising British acts this opportunity.”

Sam Isles, Managing Director of TicketWeb, said: “TicketWeb, the British Music Embassy and DIY are united in our passion and commitment to supporting home-grown British talent. We can’t wait to partner up at this year’s SXSW, giving the best up-and-coming British bands a platform to shine abroad.”

Sarah Jamieson, Managing Editor DIY, said “Over the last decade, DIY has built a track record of supporting artists from the earliest junctures in their career. We’re excited to bring exciting new talent to SXSW with TicketWeb and the British Music Embassy, with a line-up that offers a glimpse into some of the brightest new British talents.”

Over the last 12 months TicketWeb has showcased breaking British artists on stages in the UK at The Great Escape, Off the Record in Manchester, and First Fifty in London. They released their Ones to Watch list, hailing the 12 hottest new artists for 2017. TicketWeb also unveiled TicketWeb Backline – a powerful evolution of its platform designed in collaboration with Music Venue Trust specifically to meet the needs of independent venues and promoters.
