Sony Ambassador Artists and Emerging Artists Announced for Buzz Jam

Don Broco and rising stars TĀLĀ and The Beach confirmed to attend as Sony Ambassador Artists

YGN Presents Buzz Jam - http://bit.ly/YGNPresentsBuzzJam

The YGN initiative Buzz Jam, a partnership with Sony Music UK, We Make Awesome Sh and WMA, supported by funding from the National Lottery through Arts Council England, hosted at Red Bull Studios London, announces Don Broco and up-and-comers TĀLĀ and The Beach as Sony Ambassador Artists to join the unique 32-hour hack day.

Marking the most ambitious project by YGN to date, Buzz Jam will bring six teams of musicians, managers and coders together under one roof with the goal of collaborating to create a new musical instrument and gaining a plethora of new connections and invaluable experience.

On hand to inspire, advise and guide as Sony Ambassador Artists are three Sony-signed acts, who will bring their combined experience to ensure each team benefits from industry understanding as well as the practical skills needed when working in a team studio environment.

Bedford-formed band Don Broco released their second album ‘Automatic’ earlier this year, which went Top 10 in the UK album charts. Produced by the Grammy Award winning Jason Perry, ‘Automatic’ was the follow-up to their 2012 debut album ‘Priorities’That album saw the band rise rapidly from cult heroes to a major force in British rock music, selling out headline shows at London’s Roundhouse and The Forum. The band are fresh from playing Leeds and Reading Festival this weekend and are somewhat veterans of the festival, having played five times in as many years. The band are also due to play Brixton Academy on 13th December (tickets are on-sale now at http://www.donbroco.com/).

TĀLĀ is a 25-year-old London-based producer and multi-genre pop star who has found support from the likes of the The Telegraph, Dazed, i-D, Guardian, Pitchfork, Dummy and more; all of which have found favour in her Middle Eastern-tinged sound. Her live experience has seen her play various festivals including Field Day, whilst her collaborative experience recently saw her working alongside fellow producers Craze & Hoax.

The Beach is a talented singer-songwriter who has quietly been making a name for himself and is now gaining rapid momentum across radio and printed press alike. When he is not performing, he is often found locked away from the outside world with his producer Max Hosinger, writing and recording in a cupboard-sized studio in a Clapham high-rise block. The Beach has produced music that is endlessly fascinating and heralds a new distinctive voice in British music.

Absorbing the knowledge of the three experienced artists will be the six emerging acts, each of which make up one third of the participating teams. As announced on social media last week the immensely talented musicians are: Good Love, Mark Doherty, My Panda Shall Fly, Chasing Cadence, Koven and Violet Skies.

Buzz Jam takes place at Red Bull Studios in London across the weekend of September 19-20.
