ReverbNation Enters Music Publishing Arena with CONNECT Songs
22 April 2015 - Press release
ReverbNation, the company that has helped millions of emerging artists advance their careers, will become an even greater resource to its bands as it enters the music publishing arena. The new division, CONNECT Songs, will provide publishing administration services under a revenue sharing model with its artists. Under the terms of the artist agreement, all artists will remain contractually unencumbered, and unlike competitive models, no long term co-publishing rights will be acquired by the company and there are no upfront fees. The first artists to benefit from the new publishing division will be members of ReverbNation's artist development incubator CONNECT, which develops promising artists identified by the company's curation-at-scale capability. "CONNECT Songs enables ReverbNation to provide powerful, efficient and fully transparent royalty collection services for our bands," said Simon Perry, ReverbNation's Chief Creative Officer. "Combined with our growing traditional creative publishing capabilities, participating artists will have a powerful new tool to monetize their music, grow their audience and increase their visibility within the music industry." ReverbNation has formed an alliance with Sentric Music to enable CONNECT Songs to collect publishing royalties worldwide. Sentric will handle royalty collection, sync services, and neighboring rights services for artists that choose to participate. "No other company in the world has access to the volume of great, emerging artists than ReverbNation," said Chris Meehan, CEO of Sentric Music. "Their commitment to offering services of real value to artists of all levels is what has attracted us to work with the company over a number of years. The publishing administration and synchronisation services will enable artists to create and protect a valuable income stream." Over the past few weeks, ReverbNation has announced other significant opportunities for bands to gain access to the industry, all made possible by its new curation-at-scale capability. These have included membership in SESAC and key performance slots at important industry events and festivals. |
