PRS Foundation announces four new Trustee appointments

PRS Foundation, the UK’s leading funder of new music and talent development across all genres announces today (19 January 2017) four new Trustees who’ve been appointed to the charity’s board over the past six months. They are Caroline Norbury MBE (CEO Creative England), Hannah Kendall (Composer, Director at London Music Masters and teacher at Junior Royal Academy of Music), Julian Nott (Film and TV composer) and Mark Poole (Chartered Accountant and PRS Board member).

Caroline Norbury, MBE is the founding Chief Executive of Creative England and dedicated to championing the creative industries.  Creative England invests in and supports creative ideas, talent and businesses in film, TV, games and digital media.  Caroline is a non-exec on the board of Crowdfunder, the UK’s largest rewards-based crowdfunding platform; a member of BAFTA; the Royal Society of Arts; the UK Trade & Investment Creative Industries Sector Advisory Group and leads on the work of the Creative Industries Council Access to Finance working group.

Hannah Kendall is a composer that has been described as “…intricately and skilfully wrought’ by The Sunday Times, and whose music has attracted the attentions of some of the UK’s finest groups including London Philharmonic Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, BBC Singers and Philharmonia Orchestra.  Hannah also works part-time as a Director at London Music Masters, a charity that aims to enable opportunity, diversity and excellence in classical music, inspiring positive change for individuals and communities, and teaches on the Composition/General Musicianship team at Junior Royal Academy of Music.

Julian Nott is a film and TV composer who has provided the scores for six productions that have won or been nominated for Oscars and 12 for BAFTAs.  His work includes scores for “Wallace and Gromit in The Curse of the Wererabbit”, “Peppa Pig”, “Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom”, “The Hungry Caterpillar”, “The Decoy Bride”, “My Mother’s Courage”, “Heavy Petting” and “A Man of No Importance”.  Recent TV credits include all four series of the BBC’s popular “Lark Rise to Candleford” and David Jason’s comedy “The Royal Bodyguard”. 

Mark Poole is a Chartered Accountant with over twenty five years of financial and commercial experience. He currently acts as a corporate adviser and non-executive director on a number of companies including PRS for Music. He previously worked for the Virgin Group for over 20 years (with ten years as Group Finance Director) where he was responsible for financial strategy including corporate finance, tax, treasury, accounting and financial reporting.  Mark is currently a Board Governor and Treasurer at the International School of Geneva comprising three large campuses with over 4,400 students.
