MTV UK to be Broadcast Partner of the UK’s Official Streaming Chart

Industry Streaming Top 20 Chart to launch on MTV Music on April 14^th at 5pm

Chart reflects streaming via all major streaming outlets including: Spotify; Deezer; Bloom FM; Napster and O2 Tracks

MTV UK is extending its coverage of the UK’s Official Charts with the launch today (April 14^th) of the first ever official streaming chart show. 

As the official broadcast partner, MTV Music will launch The Official Streaming Chart from Monday, April 14 at 5pm providing the first reveal of the Official Streaming Chart Top 20. The chart will also broadcast on MTV HITS and VIVA from April 15^th.

The industry recognised chart is compiled by the UK’s music industry owned data organisation, the Official Charts Company, and is based on audio streams generated by a range of services serving the UK including Spotify, Deezer, Napster, Bloom FM and O2 Tracks - which are currently generating an average of 230 million streams each week. The chart covers streams across seven days, from 00.01 Sunday to Saturday midnight every week. 

As part of this launch, MTV Music will also broadcast The Official Streaming Chart of the Year So Far which counts down the Top 100 most streamed tracks (January-March 2014). This will premiere on MTV Music over the weekend of April 26/27^th.

The new weekly Official Streaming Chart enhances MTV UK’s existing portfolio of Official Industry Charts, including the Official UK Top 40, the Official Download Singles Chart, the Official Singles Update, plus The Official Urban & Official Dance Charts.

The Official Streaming Chart will also be published every Monday afternoon as a Top 20 on mtv.co.uk and on OfficialCharts.com as a full Top 100.
